My name is Mrs. Latrice L. Washington. I am a Los Angeles native and reside in Carson, CA. I enjoy writing scripts for stage and film, designing special events, crafting jewelry, cooking, and traveling with my husband, Henry.

 

I hold a Master of Art in English and Creative Writing with an emphasis in Screenwriting from Southern New Hampshire University (2019); a Bachelor of Art in Theater Arts from Humboldt State University (2002); and a Single Subject Teaching Credential in English from CSU, Dominguez Hills (2012). 

 

This is my 12th year of teaching and my 6th year at King/Drew.  Previously, I taught 9th and 10th grade English Language Arts and Theater Arts at Mervyn M. Dymally High School. Before that, I taught 11th and 12th grade English, Creative Writing, and Theater Arts at Frederick Douglass Academy Charter High School (FDACHS). 

 

Prior to becoming a teacher, I was a Story Producer, Post-Production Producer/Coordinator, Associate Producer, Story Editor, and Venue Manager for companies such as Discovery Communications, Tribune Entertainment, and AMCI, an automotive marketing agency.
