Our Summer Bridge program is designed to promote and acclimate freshmen with the expectations of high school, while using teaching strategies that foster success and build resilience. This year’s program will emphasize skills and strategies in math, science, English, and technology/life skills.  It is our intent to bridge the gap between middle and high school, and to allow this diverse group of students to share their thoughts and experiences and make new friends. Students are assessed in reading and math during new student orientation in May and are placed accordingly in their classes so that they may be targeted for additional supports to succeed. Students are required to wear our KD uniform and are visibly connected through the school uniform which promotes professionalism and unity.

Teachers will develop a group project-based culminating activity that will be presented by team in the Lecture Hall on Friday, August 7, 2020.

Allotted paid Summer Bridge planning will be Thursday, June 18 for a total of 6 hours at K/D.
