I am Ms. Valencia, King Drew’s Class of 2027 counselor. I am an LAUSD alumni and first generation-college alumni. I attended all LAUSD schools from pre-k to 12th grade. After graduating from John C. Fremont High School, I attended UC Irvine. I graduated from UCI with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a minor in education. Two years later, I pursued my passion to become a school counselor and attended grad school at Cal State Dominguez Hills, where I earned a Master of Arts in Education Counseling with a PPS credential. I have served as a student aid, teacher assistant, substitute teacher, intervention teacher, middle school & high school counselor intern, academic and college counselor. I have been a counselor for 7 years. I love that I get to guide, motivate, and inspire our Los Angeles community students to graduate high school and pursue higher education. One fun fact about me is that I have a 10-year-old daughter whom I enjoy spending my free time with.
