I have had the privilege of teaching at King Drew since August 2006. Prior to my time here, I worked at SeaWorld San Diego in the education department and in aviculture (birds) for 6 years. I grew up in San Diego and attended the University of San Diego where I graduated with a degree in Marine Science, emphasis in Biology; along with a minor Chemistry in 2003. In 2005, I moved to Los Angeles and began my Masters at UCLA, graduating with a Masters in Education in 2007. In 2020 I became a National Board Certified Teacher.
I love to travel with my students. We have white water rafted in Costa Rica, hiked Mayan temples and snorkeled the barrier reef in Belize, hiked glaciers in Iceland, explored culture in France, Spain, Monaco, Morocco, and Portugal, and swam with iguanas, penguins, and sea turtles in the Galapagos. In 2022, we will be exploring medicine and science in Scotland, England, and France as well as ecosytems in Costa Rica and Panama. Learn more about our travel program by visiting here.
